Glossary
The words FOIAGen uses, defined plainly.
Draft — a letter FOIAGen has written for your review; nothing goes out until you click send.
Deadline — the date an agency's reply or records are due, counted in business days under that agency's rules.
Follow-up — a letter drafted and ready once a deadline has passed without a reply, for you to review and send.
Appeal — a letter drafted and ready once a request is denied or ignored past its deadline, for you to review and send; FOIAGen does not file it for you and does not guarantee it will succeed.
Business days — the way FOIAGen counts deadlines, matching how most agencies' own rules count them, rather than calendar days.
Campaign — the same request sent to several agencies at once, each tracked afterward as its own request.
